KILL
THRILL
DVD region 0. Private.
Private’s Kill Thrill would seem to have
everything going for it. The moody cover art, the intriguing premise
– a serial killer finds his past catching up with him as
the ghosts of his victim return to haunt him and a brooding opening
all hint that this could be something special.
Sadly, it all falls apart rather quickly.
While the production values are as good as you would hope from
Private, the story rapidly falls apart – clearly the writers
had a good concept but then couldn’t figure out what to
do with it, and so it deteriorates into a series of slick, passionless
couplings that involve beautiful people and sexy costumes, but
lack any sexual heat.
Oh, and the dubbing of the lead actress – usually achieved
by having her dialogue spoken while her face is off-camera –
is incredibly distracting.
